Surroundings

The Champsaur is in the high Drac valley with magnificent views towards the south of the Ecrins mountain.

The surrounding landscape is one of Europe’s rare and preserved groves of small plots, separated by hedges and perennials that harbour the cold in winter and conserve humidity in summer that also serve to shelter various species of birds in summer.

Saint-Michel de Chaillol, Ancelle and Saint Leger les Melezes are the most well known ski areas around 1500m.  The highest resort, Orcieres (1850m) is an excellent ski region with 100km of sunny piste up to 2700m with snow park, infant slopes, sports centre and festive atmosphere.

In total, the valley has six ski stations:

• Orcieres – alpine skiing Merlette, cross country skiing along the Drac
• Champoleon – cross country skiing
• Saint-Leger-Les-Melezes – alpine skiing
• Ancelle – alpine skiing and cross country skiing
• Laye – alpine skiing and cross country skiing

Saint-Jean-Saint-Nicolas has an ice skating rink at Pont du Fosse.  Those passionate about climbing and mountaineering will find Champsaur and Ecrins mountains full of new challenges.

For those who enjoy water sports, the Drac offers many activities as well as the Oxygenation Centre of Gap Bayard with its Nordic sports in winter and superb 18 hole golf course in spring and autumn.

The Champsaur area has become a well known place where everyone can find activities, all year round to occupy your body and mind and has wonderful local produce to delight the palate.

 LOCATION AND DETAILED INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHALET

Our chalet is situated at Pont du Fosse, near Les Bonnets at 1250m with a beautiful 360 degree view facing the south.  A large terrace (30m2) for relaxing and entertaining guests with a magnificent back drop.  The fenced garden has many trees within a 1200m area bordered by a creek providing a calm and  pleasant environment.

4 bedrooms, with room for 10 people (2 double beds and 6 single beds), 3 bathrooms and 3 toilets.  Big living room / dining room (55m2). A well equipped and spacious kitchen 16m2). Ski storage area of 4m2.

Comfortably furnished and built with the highest regards for the environment.  Peaceful atmosphere with fireplace ideal to have an ideal holiday with family or amongst friends.

Lots of space for private parking nearby to supermarkets and shops (1.5km) and easy access to motorways.  For hiking and trekking enthusiasts, the chalet is 300m from the GR 50.

Practical information

Reservation is made through a contract that includes dates, price and deposit. A cheque (not cashed) is required as deposit. An itinerary will be taken at the beginning of the let and again before leaving. The tenant is responsible for cleaning the chalet at the end of their let although it is possible to  subcontract the cleaning.  (An invoice will be provided if this is the case). Household linen, sheets and bathroom linen are not provided.

The property can be let directly from the owner or through a letting agency.  The owners will  rest at the disposal of the tenant and will be available on mobile phone. Please do no hesitate to contact us directly  for further information.
